Looking for the Best Anti Aging Diet or Simply the Best Anti Aging Foods?
One of the key areas we should look at when considering how to lengthen our lives and to stay healthy so we are able to enjoy those years is the food we eat. We want to look at an anti aging diet and the foods that make it up.
This is where it becomes a bit difficult. There are so many different diet plans and they contradict each other. This makes it very difficult to determine which one to follow.
Of course if you are a confirmed vegan or vegetarian, that will help you choose which anti aging diet you will follow. Or will it? You will face the same confusion even if you are a confirmed omnivore.
So one thing we will do over time is to add an article for each different plan that has any kind of anti aging properties. As many have reasons why they fight the onset of many of the diseases that are associated with getting older, this means we’ll end up covering a lot we are sure.
To start with a few of the basics, the macro nutrients we ingest are fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Where the different plans, well, differ is the amounts and types of each of these that are allowed. Each system has scientific proof that backs up the reasons they have chosen the foods in each macronutrient.
While there are many variations within the systems, to us they basically fall into two groups. You have the group that feels whole grains, vegetables and fruits should make up the carbohydrates and that carbs should be 40%, 45% or even greater of the food you take in. These are usually associated with low fat and moderate protein intake or low protein and moderate fat intake.
The other basic group is the one that believes most carbs should come from assorted vegetables and fruits and that you should not eat grains at all. How much fat and protein is in the diet varies. Usually these plans are out for vegans and vegetarians.
That’s it in a very small nutshell.
Of course we should make sure to add in the calorie restriction diet. Calorie restriction has been proven to increase the life span. But it is considered very hard for the vast majority of people to maintain. That is why the market is seeing the introduction of calorie restriction mimetics. We’ll address those under anti aging supplements section.
